Dr. Bill Donahue is Founder and Lead Strategist for The Communitas Network and is a popular speaker, author and consultant to high-impact leaders and organizations. His mission is to resource catalytic leaders to build transformational groups and teams for the purpose of mobilizing missional communities. Bill’s experience in the marketplace and in non-profit environments makes him uniquely gifted to coach and equip strategic leaders for personal growth and organizational effectiveness.
Before launching The Communitas Network, Bill served at the Willow Creek Church & Association where he developed leadership strategies and training events for over 2500 volunteer leaders. In addition, Bill launched and led the Group Life initiative, creating tools and resources for leaders in 13,000 churches on six continents, representing over 95 denominations in over 30 countries.
Prior to working with religious organizations, Bill served as an analyst for PNC Corporation and in sales and marketing with Procter & Gamble. His current work with Communitas allows him to integrate the experience he has in both corporate and non-profit cultures, providing strategic guidance to senior leaders and complex organizations.
Bill has an A.B. in Psychology from Princeton University, an M.A. from Dallas Seminary and a Ph.D. in Adult Learning and Development from the University of North Texas. He serves as an adjunct teacher at a number of graduate schools training both Masters and Doctoral students in organizational strategy, team-building, leadership development and authentic community.
In addition to the best-selling, Leading Life-changing Small Groups, Bill developed the DVD training resource ReGroup™ with Henry Cloud and John Townsend. Bill has partnered with John and Henry in developing leaders at conferences and seminars here and abroad. He co-authoredCoaching Life-Changing Leaders with Greg Bowman, and has partnered with Russ Robinson to create a number of resources for strategic leadership. He makes his home in Dundee, Illinois with his wife Gail, son Ryan and daughter Kinsley.
